49th Annual Bull Sale
February 9, 2026 • 1:00 pm
Welcome to new and revised web page of Koupal Angus. We have not updated our site in 10 years and a lot has changed since then. Koupal Angus is still Lavern and Alice Koupal and we are the old people. But in the winter of our lives we still feel young at heart and I guess that is why we still love the Angus cattle and the people that raise them. Retirement is not in our vocabulary as persay but we feel retirement is doing what you want to do when you want to do it. So here we are still looking up pedigrees and watching those good cows raise a good calf every year and eyeing them all summer not hoping for a great one but a group of calves you can be proud to show.
Our son David, Peggy and sons known as Koupal Lazy E Y Ranch live by Hot Springs and run about 70 head of cows calving in the spring. Along with Peggy and David we pool our bulls and have a bull sale in February selling coming 2s and yearling bulls.
We still raise our bulls and heifers on the farm by Dante but move the bulls after weaning to our son David. David and Peggy and sons do a wonderful job of growing these young bulls into reputable bulls for the commercial cattle men. Not over fed, lots of room and hills to travel and not standing in pens.
Trying to raise functional and profitable cattle are hard to measure and complicated to explain. The endless numbers available still do not replace the day ito day hands on experience within our own cowherd. Knowing our individual cow herd coupled with over 50 years of Angus Herd Improvement Records (AHIR), we feel we can help with the bull selection process. By drawing from the personal understanding of our herd, one can be confident that we are able to help find the bull best suited for your program.
Two Angus breeders build a life of faith and family.
